It was during a match between Sannat Lions and the Oratory Youths that Antoine Camilleri failed to control his anger.
Referee Massimo Axisa handed Camilleri a second yellow card following a rash challenge, but the red card didn’t go down well with the player.
Camilleri punched and kicked the assistant who was just 18-years-old before being escorted from the stadium by police.
Following the incident, Sannat Lions have terminated the contract of the player with immediate effect and fine him €400.
Camilleri, who faced court on Sunday, pleaded guilty to charges of threatening and injuring a person, and using offensive language.
He was hit with a one-year ban from playing football, along with a fine of €100.

What about the assistant referee who suffered humiliation and pain. The red card came from the centre referee. He was supposed to be directed to do something about the assistant referee. Either to write a letter of apology. At least, all credit goes to the Club.
