Man City reject bid for Liam Delap, Foden’s bizarre name for his dog revealed

Two interesting Manchester City stories have emerged on Wednesday, centering around Liam Delap and the name of Phil Foden’s dog.

Man City reject bid for Delap

The first story centers around young forward, Liam Delap.

The 18-year-old striker made his senior debut for City last term, notching one goal in three outings.

And whilst some may have now expected Delap to be farmed out on loan to gain first-team experience, Guardiola confirmed last month that Delap will train with the main squad all season.

Despite said comments from Guardiola, though, Delap has yet to feature for Man City this term, something fans may be beginning to question given Man City’s lack of an actual striker this season.

One side who would likely be keen to play Delap on a more regular basis, however, is Borussia Dortmund.

The German outfit have an excellent track record with young stars, with Jadon Sancho the most obvious example at present. He would be signed from Man City’s youth ranks and, after having several top quality seasons in Germany, has now been shipped off to Manchester United for £73m.

And, it appears as though Dortmund were looking to try and repeat that trick recently with Liam Delap.

Football Insider report that Man City rejected a £15m bid from Dortmund for Delap, after the German powerhouse made a move for him towards the end of the summer window.

However, City knocked the offer back as they have high hopes for Delap.

What is the name of Phil Foden’s dog?

Elsewhere, the bizarre name of Phil Foden’s dog has been revealed.

The Athletic’s Sam Lee has reported on Wednesday that, the day after his man-of-the-match performance against Aston Villa in the 2020 final at Wembley, Phil Foden bought a french bulldog and named is Carabao, after the current sponsor of the League Cup.
