Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez has been told by former Inter Milan and Real Madrid star Ivan Zamorano that he is better than Erling Haaland "on the wings" and that he "participates" more than Kylian Mbappe as a number nine.
Alvarez had a sensational World Cup with Argentina. The City striker found the back of the net four times for Lionel Scaloni's side on their path to glory - only being outscored by Lionel Messi (seven) and Golden Boot winner Mbappe (eight).
Having played second fiddle to Haaland for most of the season, Alvarez took his opportunity to impress on the world's biggest stage. Pep Guardiola undoubtedly has a selection headache for the rest of the Premier League campaign as he works out if he can capitalise on the 22-year-old's good form and try to find a way for the pair to both start.
South American nations may hold some of the fiercest rivalries in world football, yet even one of Chile's most recognised strikers could not help but heap praise on Alvarez, as Zamorano waxed lyrical about the City ace.
He told Argentinian outlet Ole (via Sportskeeda ): "He (Alvarez) is a boy who does everything well. He is doing very well on the wings, he is good on the side, he is the first defender, he is united with his teammates, he plays very well with his head, he shoots well from the right and the left, he has the physical strength at short and long distance - we saw that with his goal against Croatia."
"Haaland is not good on the wings, Mbappé we saw that as number nine he does not participate much. And all that, Julian does it."

Alvarez is one of the very best in the world. whether Pep is going to give him chance to prove that is another story. He is not far from Haaland and Mpape. Zamorano is right the guy is better than Haaland and Mpape in some departments of the game and need consistency to overtake both of them. I can bet on him anyday
