Man City's captains raised money to pay for tickets for fans traveling to Norway

According to the latest report from the Manchester Evening News, Manchester City's captains have pooled together nearly £10,000 to pay for the tickets for the traveling fans.

Manchester City captains reportedly pooled nearly £10,000 to cover the ticket costs for 374 fans who traveled to Bodø to watch the Champions League match. Hundreds of City fans traveled to the Arctic Circle to witness their team's lackluster performance, ultimately suffering a shock 1-3 defeat. Captains Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, Erling Haaland, and Rodri unanimously agreed that at least the ticket costs for those who traveled to Norway should be refunded.

They said: "Our fans are crucial to us, and we know the sacrifices they make by traveling from all over the world to support us. We will never take it for granted. They are the best fans in the world, and we understand how difficult it is for those who braved the cold nights to accompany us through tough matches."

"Paying for the tickets for those who traveled to Bodø is something we can do to help. We are ready to give our all against Wolves on Saturday and then face Galatasaray at the Etihad Stadium next Wednesday, with the support of our passionate fans." 

Kevin Parker, speaking on behalf of the Official Supporters Club, said: “Manchester City fans travel long distances to support our team, and last night in the Arctic Circle was a completely different story. Bodø is no easy place to reach, and the sub-zero temperatures made it a challenging night for our fans in many ways.”

“On matchdays, there is an incredible connection between Manchester City fans and players, and this gesture was a testament to that. It means a lot to us. We know the players were disappointed with the loss to Bodø/Glimt, but Saturday's home game gives us the opportunity to get back on track to victory, and our fans will support the team as always.”
