Jose Mourinho has placed Harry Maguire at the top of his summer transfer list and wants Manchester United to secure the services of the Leicester City defender.
According to the Sunday People, the Red Devils are 'lining up a £35million move' for the impressive Foxes defender.
Maguire's stock has risen for club and country after a consistent campaign in Leicester's rearguard and news of admiring glances from Old Trafford could prove costly for England team-mate Chris Smalling.
Smalling looks to have fallen beneath Maguire for England and a summer move to Manchester for the 25-year-old would be another blow to Smalling.
Maguire only joined Leicester last summer following a £17million move from Hull but he will now command a figure far greater.
Mourinho is said to have been impressed by Maguire's composure in possession and his ability to be a threat from set-pieces.
His threat in the air was something the Portuguese boss witnessed first hand when Maguire scored against United in stoppage time at the King Power Stadium in December to rescue a 2-2 draw.
United's summer transfer plans appear to go far beyond just trying to entice Maguire as Mourinho wants to hijack Manchester City's move for Brazilian midfielder Fred.
Reports in the Sunday Express suggest the feeling inside United is that a £60million offer for the Shakhtar Donetsk player will usurp any bid from Pep Guardiola's Citizens.
United will need to bolster their midfield options ahead of next season with a title challenge firmly on the agenda, not least if Marouane Fellaini leaves on a free transfer.

Pep and city should go for this guy, we have enough CB but kompany can't be reliable,we need four fit CB next season and with LaPorte being very good at left back it's an added advantage. with Harry we could have a team with 5 world class CB

Man Utd should instead go for RUBEN NEVES - he's been by far the best player in the Championship by miles - his passing, dribbling, tackling, accuracy, shooting and ball control is up there with the best ; reminds me of Scholsy. I think he'd be a good go for than Fred plus he'd be costing around £40M which is relatively cheaper.
