Man United Supporters Trust urge Glazers to be realistic with valuation of club

The Manchester United Supporters Trust have implored the Glazers to 'get on with it' with regards to selling the club.

MUST also insisted that United's owners must be realistic in their valuation of the club, with the Glazers initial asking price having been £6billion.

The deadline for closing bids is 10pm on Friday, with almost six months having passed since the Glazers started the process of selling the club.

MUST are eager to ensure that United manager Erik ten Hag will have sufficient money to spend in the summer transfer window.

In the latest bulletin to supporters, MUST wrote: 'It is now nearly six months since the Glazers initiated the process to sell the Club, and today is the latest of their artificial deadlines to seek to elicit higher bids than received so far.

'Right now, most United fans are pretty frustrated by the whole process. When it began, back in November, our very first statement called for the Glazers to make sure the process was delivered as quickly as possible so that uncertainty over the ownership did not impair Erik Ten Hag’s rebuild plan.

'Yet with the transfer window about to get going again in earnest, and with as much uncertainty as ever over the future ownership, we are now in precisely the situation we most feared.

'With new bids for the Club coming in today, and Erik needing a good transfer window to address the obvious deficiencies in our squad, our message to the Glazers is simple - be realistic on the valuation and GET ON WITH IT!!'.

It emerged this week that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is offering a deal that would enable Joel and Avram Glazer to remain at the club.

Such a deal would frustrate many United fans and would encompass Ratcliffe taking a controlling stake of more than 50 per cent, with the two Glazers retaining a combined 20 per cent.

In addition, Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani will present his concluding offer, which is for full control of United. He has no interest in taking a partial stake.

Many United supporters are frustrated with the Glazers' ownership and there are plans for a protest ahead of Sunday's game at home to Aston Villla.

Supporters are planning to march from Manchester city centre to Old Trafford under the slogan 'full sale only'.

The group will boycott the first 18 minutes which they say is 'one for every year the Glazers have driven our club to the ground' before entering the stadium.
