Paul Scholes had fans in disbelief on Friday after he was caught on video while pulling pints at a local pub in Manchester.

The Man United legend, 50, works primarily as a pundit nowadays for the likes of TNT Sport and The Overlap Fan Debate, which he hosts with ex-Liverpool star Jamie Carragher.

But Scholes swapped punditry for pint pouring in Manchester this week as he was bizarrely spotted serving locals at The Castle Hotel on Oldham Street.

The moment was captured on video and quickly went viral on social media, appearing to show Scholes with a puzzled look on his face.

Several fans reacted online by giving the former Red Devils midfielder an appropriate new nickname, ranging from 'Pour Scholes' to 'Pull Scholes'.

Others made reference to his sensational passing ability as a player.

'He can prob(ably) launch them across the pub with pinpoint accuracy straight to your table,' one fan posted.

Another, referencing his super ability to control the game in midfield, added: 'Pulling the levers even in retirement.'

Scholes, who grew up in Manchester before emerging through the Red Devils' academy alongside the likes of David Beckham, Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs, is widely considered one of the best players in the club's recent history.

The Englishman chalked up almost 500 appearances for the club under Sir Alex Ferguson and played a pivotal role during United's era of dominance, winning 11 Premier League titles, two Champions League trophies and four FA Cups.
