Injuries to Ander Herrera, Juan Mata, Roberto Firmino and Jesse Lingard disrupted Liverpool's 0-0 draw at Manchester United on Sunday.
Match Reports
Liverpool returned to the Premier League summit despite being held to a 0-0 draw by bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford in a match that was marred by first-half injuries to four players.
After days of anticipation and excitement, the match swiftly descended into farce in the first period, as Ander Herrera, Juan Mata, Roberto Firmino and Jesse Lingard were all forced off injured, and the match struggled to recover from an entertainment perspective.
The medical staff were rather less busy in the second half and that allowed Liverpool to increase the pressure, generally dominating against a United effectively playing with 10 men due to Marcus Rashford struggling with a knock.

20' Injured Herrera replaced by Pereira
Herrera's game comes to an end with less than a quarter of it played. Pereira, who has struggled to hold down a place in the side, is the man to come on. That three-man midfield is looking very makeshift now.
25' Substitution! Mata replaced by Lingard
Mata receives some treatment to his ankle but is unable to continue. Lingard, who has been rushed back from injury to take a place on the bench today, is brought on in United's second enforced change of the first half.
30' Firmino goes off injured too
The third enforced change of the first half sees Sturridge replace Firmino through the middle for Liverpool. There must be something in the air!
42' Injured Lingard replaced by Sanchez
This is becoming comical now. Lingard is the FOURTH player to leave the field injured and we are not even halfway through the game. Lingard was clearly not fully fit, having been rushed back from injury well ahead of schedule, and he is replaced by Sanchez after just 15 minutes on the field.
56' CHANCE! Rashford's shot wide out
SLICED WIDE! Feeding off what is a terrific atmosphere inside Old Trafford, United are starting to push their opponents back. Lukaku does not give up on the ball when it arrives in the box and it eventually falls for Rashford, who slices it into the side-netting from an angle.
76' GOAL DISALLOWED! Matip OG ruled out for early Smalling offside
GOAL DISALLOWED! A huge roar goes around Old Trafford, but the offside flag is up to cut the celebrations short. Shaw sends in a delightful free-kick towards the back post and an offside Smalling's first-time delivery into the middle is turned into his own net by Matip. The Liverpool defender is relieved that the linesman spotted the offside infringement.

The support that United Fans gave on the ground was just fantastic and I think that’s the reason that slowed down Liverpool It’s a good point for United with a team who is really been in form whole season.... SALUTE TO FANS OF UNITED SALUTE ALL PLAYERS ALL GAVE MORE THAN 100% to hold the game

Rashford limped through out the whole game, normally he was supposed to be subbed but the boy has heart and passion for the club he played 92mins injured. From the start I never doubted Scott and the boy played very well, the back 4 were terrific because De gea didn't have much to do and he's reached his 100th premiere league clean sheet. Our team was the youngest and underdogs but we played top class football all thanks to Soskjear.. Come on guys Soskjear deserves this permanent job. First time we met Liverpool this season we lost 3:1 with a full squad.

The busiest on the pitch today were the physios during half time. And they were the highlight of the game.

I would like to thank mourinho for promoting Mctominay. The boy was good and calm.he dictated the tempo but unfortunately Pereira didn't help him as he was not close to him. congrats to Luke shaw as well for how he nullified salah with his intelligence while tominay always helped young in nullifying mane'. As a result, Liverpool had no shot on target

I know many will disagree with me here but those are my findings: 1 OGS plan B is mourinho's style, park the bus and play long balls. This will never work with lazy rashford as a striker. we are struggling vs teams who press high. 2 Rashford isn't a 15-20+ goals a season striker and can't perform for 90 min.I still considervhim a super sub. 3. Bringing in injured lingard ahead of Sanchez was disrespectful and unfair.Sanchez ended having a better game that rashford though some of his teammates especially pogba and rashford don't pass him the ball. 4. Playing Pereira ahead of Fred is very questionable. 5. selling fellaini who could be our savior and keeping useless Pereira was a big mistake.fellaini could help us in such games ravaged by injuries and could be key in long balls we played today. 6. where are the youngsters OGS promised us? Garner is better than Pereira who was given many chances by mou but disappointed. conclusion: OGS must work on a better plan B and use players by merit

After Mo came out the camera panned to him sitting on the bench. He had the most depressed look on his face, likely thinking how his poor performance may cost them the title. But it's not just this performance. He lit it up in december and was good in parts of January, but he has not done anything noteworthy this whole month. Being subbed off was the best thing for him. He needs time to figure things out and rediscover his form. He will be ready by the midweek fixture - mark my words. Stay positive, reds. YNWA ❤

looking back at Liverpool's performance, this was a point gained instead of wasted two. Their gameplan was to slow the game down because they couldn't have handled Manutd's pacey and strong players. Injuries took their toll, but there wouldn't have any spark because the game was decided long before started by liverpool players: fight for one point, and they succeeded it.

♦️#MUNLIV Summary: • Early injuries cost us from scoring/winning • McTominay & Periera deserve credit • Liverpool’s midfield is over rated • Did Salah & Mané play? • Martial would have done a job on Milner • Tactically spot on • Back 4 was outstanding On to the next.

Lord as I enter new week, let my enemies be disgraced and humiliated like *CHELSEA* , may my way not be slippery like *BARCA* , my possession shall not be taken away from me like *LIVERPOOL* , let my enemies be confused like *ATLETICO* *MADRID* , you shall elevate me and clear my path the same way you did for *MANCHESTER* *UNITED* , I believe I shall possess my possession like *MANCHESTER* *CITY* . GOD you promise me you will bless my handwork but there will no food for lazy men like *TOTTENHAM* , bless my handwork and let me be focus like the current two *MANCHESTERS* in England, I am not doubtful like *ARSENAL* because I know I serve a living God and I know you shall direct my path just the same way you have been doing for *OLE* !!! Lord hear the PRAYER of your son who loves YOU and FOOTBALL.

Ole showed serious weakness in this game. He showed that he doesn't trust some of his players and that's not good. When matta went off, I expected him to bring in Dalot, take Ashley Young to the right wing. Not to risk Lindgard. Look at how well McTomminey played today. He needs to learn to trust those boys, not playing same guys all the games. They'll lose gas when we need them the most. Liverpool was not that hard. If he trusted Dalot, Pereira and McTomminey they could have done the job. Remember when Martial, Rashford, McTomminey, Fossu Mensah beat Arsenal and Liverpool!? Nobody knew them so, they took them by surprise

Congratulations to the entire team for such a splendid performance today. We are proud of you. Ole deserved the job permanently bucz all the players are playing with their minds, bodies and souls even when they are not 100% fit. So you see my point. A happy family sticks closer in all weather. Manutd all my life. Mr. Woodward now is the time to protect our proud which has been brought back by Ole. Keep him and buy some players ..... Strikers and Defenders.
