Manchester United produced a woeful performance as Burnley left Old Trafford with a 2-0 win on Wednesday.
Match Report
Goals from Burnley's Chris Wood and Jay Rodriguez inflicted an embarrassing 2-0 defeat on Manchester United at Old Trafford, a loss that will surely bring Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's position into question once again.
It was Solskjaer's first home league match as United manager without Marcus Rashford - who is set for a long absence with a back injury - and his absence was telling, as the Red Devils showed little cutting edge in the final third against a Burnley side that was typically set up to frustrate.
Although United dominated much of the first half, the chances they created were wasted and Burnley were far more clinical, going into the break with a one-goal lead thanks to Wood despite having just three shots to the hosts' 11.
United were arguably even worse after the interval. The opportunities they had been crafting dried up and a phenomenal strike from Rodriguez ultimately gave them too much to do, meaning fourth-placed Chelsea remain six points clear of Solskjaer's men.

16' WHAT A CHANCE missed by Martial!
Wan-Bissaka is the man on the right and rolls a neat cross straight into Martial's pass inside the box. He's only about eight yards out but is caught on his toes and completely misses his kick.
28' CHANCE! Big miss from Mata
Again, it's Wan-Bissaka that gets free down the right. This ball is another good one and finds Mata about seven yards out but he completely misses his kick.
32' SAVE! James' header denied by Pope
Wan-Bissaka goes on the outside of McNeil and digs a cross out towards the back corner. James goes up with Mee and somehow wins the header...it loops towards the top corner but Pope helps it over the crossbar.
39' GOAL! Man Utd 0-1 Burnley (Wood)
A free kick is launched long from 50 yards and Mee once again beats Matic in the air. They have plenty of men forward and Wood is the quickest to react to the second ball about 12 yards out.
He was alive to the opportunity and bangs a brilliant finish past De Gea.
56' GOAL! Man Utd 0-2 Burnley (Rodriguez)
Mouths are wide open in the home ends at Old Trafford - they have just seen something special.
There doesn't look much on for Rodriguez as he picks the ball up down the left but he takes a few forward touches before unleashing a rocket that catches De Gea out at his near post. The ball crashes off the underside of the bar and into the net.
90' Man Utd goal ruled out!
Shaw heads home from Mata's diagonal cross, but the referee blows his whistle! The United full-back is adjudged to have pushed Hendrick.

Man Utd fans & followers, media & soccer pundits, United players & coaching staff, simply the lot of them will come to realise a day too late in time that, Ole G S IS NOT THE RIGHT MAN to lead Man Utd out of the abyss. He is patently out of his depth. He may be an ex-Utd player, he's even a nice guy, but since when do those qualities mandate the stature of a United manager. For god's sake, he's managed Cardiff & Molde, he's simply OUT OF HIS DEPTH. Up against the likes of Klopp, Guardiola, Mourinho, Ancellotti, even Brendan Rodgers?? coupled with a United hierarchy who know as much about football as a pig knows about Sunday, Ole is a lost cause. Simply put, United deserves better. The only consolation i guess is this, it's inevitable that his days are numbered. So we wait again.

with all respect I do love my club!!! and I know every great club goes through hard times, but honestly what is happening at united is unacceptable. period. I have respect for solskjaer and all other legends of the club. this job is too big for him. and to make it worse he is working wit a board that I don't think really cares about united as a force on the soccer field but they are more interested In the advertising and other marketing spaces. guys Manchester unite failing to sign a player for ยฃ70 million. it's a joke. they have to look at the value and quality of a player before u start complaining about the price. Bruno Fernรกndez is very cheap for that price. wait for the summer transfer window and will see hw other serious cubs will pay over ยฃ90million for him. cavani, piatek, icardi...I don't know. very depressed though

A rule should be introduced to force fans to stay put on their seats till the last whistle. Disappointed with Manchester United fans who left the stadium before the last whistle yet they had paid to watch the match for 90mins!

I can't blame Solskjaer for all this embarrassment.... management must share the bulk..... rebuilding a team or squad is continuing process which takes years and you can't just stop halfway, it would surely (collapse) turn to square 1. Each time a manager is sacked, such rebuilding process has naturally collapsed and you have to start all over again. In this case, if Manchester United really mean football business success not only commercial business side alone, such rebuilding process must well defined by both manager and management with what each party must be doing consistently within certain period of time. Such as management must sign at least 2players in the summer and 1 in the winter to improve the squad by allowing aging players to leave whilst manager must make sure consistent results is really reflecting their improvement on the pitch.
