Man Utd 125th anniversary kit leaks: Red Devils pattern and Newton Heath tribute in green

According to an exclusive leak from kit information website Footy Headlines, Adidas plans to launch a 125th-anniversary fourth kit for Manchester United for the 2026-27 season. This kit will commemorate the club's official renaming from Newton Heath to Manchester United in 1902. The collection is expected to feature two color schemes—red and green—paying tribute to the club's post-rebrand image and its early history, respectively.

The green version is expected to feature a striking green base with delicate tonal patterns adorning the front, back, and sleeves. These patterns will incorporate traditional elements such as historical club crests and shield badges, showcasing the evolution of the club's visual identity. Gold accents will add a retro touch to the overall design, with the Adidas Trefoil logo on the right chest and a simplified Red Devils emblem on the left chest.

The red version is expected to feature Manchester United's iconic red and white colors, continuing the design style of the home kit, paired with white shorts and black socks in homage to the historical significance of the club's 1902 rebrand. As for the green version, its specific use remains uncertain. Footy Headlines notes that while this green jersey is included in the leaks related to this commemorative collection, it might not be a fourth outfield kit but rather a goalkeeper's jersey. This claim has not yet been confirmed and awaits official verification.

It is worth noting that Manchester United has historically used three kits: home, away, and third. The introduction of a dedicated fourth kit would be a special occasion. According to current reports, the kits are expected to debut in early 2027 and may be used in domestic cup competitions or European matches. Currently, Adidas and Manchester United have not officially unveiled these kits, and the final designs, the specific role of the green version, and the release schedule remain to be confirmed.
