First-half goals from Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford ensured Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed a seventh successive win.
Match Events
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's fine start continued as Manchester United's caretaker manager became the first boss in the club's history to win his first six league games following the 2-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion.
Almost 25 years to the day since Matt Busby died, Solskjaer made it seven wins from seven in all competitions on the one-month anniversary of his appointment as two of the players to have shone in his short tenure scored again.
Paul Pogba converted a 27th-minute penalty he won himself for his fifth goal in his last three games at Old Trafford before Marcus Rashford marked his 150th appearance with the second prior to the interval.
Pascal Gross pulled one back for Brighton, but United claimed the three points to move into fifth, above Arsenal, ahead of the Gunners' home game with fourth-placed Chelsea later on Saturday.
27' Penalty Goal! Man Utd 1-0 Brighton (Pogba)
PENALTY TO UNITED! No hesitation from the referee, as he points straight to the spot after Pogba, who had done brilliantly to bring down a difficult pass, is bundled over from behind by Bong.
POGBA CONVERTS! No mistake from the Frenchman, who – at the culmination of his familiar stuttering run up – slams home a fantastic finish into the right-hand corner.
42' Goal! Man Utd 2-0 Brighton (Rashford)
WHAT A GOAL! RASHFORD MAKES IT TWO! Extraordinary play from Rashford who, after taking in a Dalot pass, gets the better of his marker with some excellent skill before he curls a sublime finish into the far corner from an acute angle.
72' Goal! Man Utd 2-1 Brighton (Gross)
BRIGHTON ARE BACK IN IT! Out of nothing, the visitors have pulled one back! A cross from the left from Propper finds Gross, who takes a good first touch before prodding a finish in off the underside of the crossbar. Game on!

British media and pundit are only good at criticism and pulling down people. but publicising or advertising their talent is not in their horizon. it was media's works that brought Mbbappe to limelight if not nobody knows how talented he was. Look at Rasford, nobody is talking about him. During Mbbappe birthday, Media published his pictures as no man,'s business but when Rasford did nothing was said about him neither do they published his pictures.

This was a good game, sad we didn't get the clean sheet, we dominated the first half and the start of the second half but got complacent and played more crappy in the last 30 minutes, resulting in Brighton's goal, nevertheless a win is a win, Solskjaer has won 7 games in charge and equalled Guardiola and Ancelotti's record of 6 consecutive wins in the Premier League and could make history if he wins Burnley next week #GGMU 🔥🔥❤️❤️😈😈

when I saw the first half I thought more goals would come. But that didn't happen. yeah I should say that the other team had done well today. They have cleared all the attack and mainly united attack in the 2nd half was not that good. Anyway we are having 3 points. Today hoping for arsenal to lose so that we can come to 5th. May this happen. Wishing OGS all the best for the next match.

Even though I am glad we won the game, It seems to me that our team is slacking up a little bit. we won't win convincingly all the time and Brighton is a decent opposition, but out Defence was left exposed a lot. the good thing is though, I know this will cause Ole to work harder on the pitch. #GoGoManUnited

Rashford is starting to become in contention for a top young BPL player. He may hit Sterling levels so United fans should be hopeful. He can be the person to turn their team around. I've always rated Rashford and it looks like I was right. He will get them more results than Martial will, another statement I made which people laughed at. Looks like that's true too....
