Chelsea transfer news: Erik ten Hag has been pushing for Mason Mount to join Manchester United, with several bids rejected by Chelsea
The 24-year-old is already believed to have agreed personal terms with the Red Devils as his future became uncertain at Stamford Bridge. With just one-year remaining on his contract, Mount looked increasingly likely to make a switch over the next 12-months following a difficult campaign.
The west London club slumped to 12th in the Premier League table after a whole host of signings and managers created instability in a difficult transition period under new ownership. The midfielder struggled especially, with injury hitting his campaign hard and resulting in just a few appearances.
However, discussions appear to have continued towards an exit rather than a stay at Chelsea for the club's two-time Player of the Season. football.london understands that the Blues have held a firm stance on an initial £70million valuation on the England international this summer.
Interest from Manchester United has been shown throughout, with several bids rejected at this stage, with the latest being around the £50million mark. Reports suggested that the west London club budged from their £70million valuation by countering with a total package worth £65million.
While it wasn't at the price point United will have wanted, it showed the beginning of some flexibility in the transfer that the club could work with. It appears that, as a result, an agreement is nearing as the Mirror reports that a middle ground has been found between the two sides at £60million.
The deal comes as Mount made clear his preference was to join Erik ten Hag's side for next season, with a reluctance to signing a new contract if he were to stay at Chelsea. It remains to be seen when the tabled offer will be made, but it appears as though a deal is close.

I doubt that Man Utd have fans who are between the age of 10 n 15. Because when Fergie retired in 2013, those born in 2008 were 5 yrs old by then. They were so young to know what was going on during the D-Days. Nd when they started maturing Nd understanding things Utd was becoming sh1tt day by day. So they grew up watching the best teams like Man City, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona Nd so on. If you found a 10 yr old Utd fan, jst know that it's either his dad or mum supports Utd. Majority of Utd fans were born between 1950 Nd 2000
