Man Utd board sent Icardi message as transfer target suffers fresh Inter snub

Mauro Icardi was again left out of the Inter Milan squad for their clash with Sampdoria on Sunday.

The Argentine striker was stripped of the Inter captaincy this week amid a contract dispute.

He was left out of the squad for the Europa League win over Rapid Vienna and was again omitted for the return to domestic action.

Icardi watched on from the stands at the San Siro alongside wife Wanda Nara amid more speculation over his future.

Icardi has been linked with Real Madrid and Chelsea in the past but Manchester United are now in the mix.

Mirror Sport exclusively revealed that Icardi and Paulo Dybala are on United's radar this summer as they look to move on Romelu Lukaku.

Both Argentinian forwards are up for grabs having fallen out with their respective managers Massimilano Allegri and Luciano Spalletti.

Although United have yet to make a decision on who will replace the sacked Jose Mourinho permanently it hasn’t stopped them making plans for the summer transfer window.

It remains to be seen who will be in charge - and which Serie A striker United move for - but Icardi is certainly on the wishlist of some supporters.

United are also ready to make a summer move for Benfica’s exciting teenager Joao Felix after compiling extensive reports on a player who is seen as a long term replacement for Juan Mata.

The Red Devils are also amongst a clutch of clubs keeping tabs on Lyon’s 22-year-old midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
