Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes cast doubt on his future at the club after the Europa League final and Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim has now responded to his comments

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has spoken out about Bruno Fernandes' future after the Red Devils captain admitted after the Europa League final that he is open to leaving if the club decided to "cash in" on him.

Speaking after United were beaten 1-0 by Tottenham Hotspur in Bilbao, Fernandes said: "If the club thinks it's time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it is what it is.

"And football sometimes is like this. I have always been honest. I've always said I will be here until the club says to me that it's time to go. I'm eager to do more, to be able to bring the club to the great days.

‌"In the day that the club thinks that I'm too much or it's time to part ways, football is like this, you never know it. But I've always said it and I keep my word in the same way."

Al-Hilal are ready to pay £100million for the 30-year-old and want him for the Club World Cup, while the likes of Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have also been credited with an interest in Fernandes.

And when asked about Fernandes' comments ahead of United's clash with Aston Villa on the final day of the Premier League season, Amorim didn't definitively say his star man would be staying put, instead declaring: "I will speak with my players but my focus is the last game.

"I don't know what is going to happen. We have a plan — we were prepared for both situations, with or without Champions League.

"We have an idea what type of squad we want. Now we have to focus on the game, we now have the last game and we have time to address those situations."

Alejandro Garnacho also cast doubt about his future after the Europa League final after he was benched by Amorim. "It's hard for everyone. The season was s***, both now losing the final tonight, and in the league, where we didn't beat anyone, that's the truth," he said.

"Up until the final, I've played every round, and today to play 20 minutes… I don't know. I'm going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens after."

Garnacho's brother, Roberto, also caused a stir on Instagram as he shared a photo of the winger with the caption: "Working as no one else, helping every round, coming from two goals last two finals, just to be on the pitch for 19 mins and get thrown under the bus. Wowe, hahahaha."

It's believed United will look to sell Garnacho this summer in a bid to raise funds for their summer spending, with Matheus Cunha set to be their first arrival.
