Manchester United are beginning to accept the possibility that Paul Pogba could leave this summer - and have drawn up a list of potential replacements.
The Red Devils are desperate to keep hold of their midfielder despite interest from Real Madrid .
United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is adamant that he will reject any bid for Pogba, who has two years left to run on his current contract.
However the French superstar is keen to make the move to Spain and has previously made clear his desire to play for Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.
And the Evening Standard have claimed that while United are hopeful that Pogba will still be a United player next season, they are beginning to look at replacements.
Top of the list is Christian Eriksen, who last week revealed his intention to leave Tottenham for pastures new this summer.
In an interview with Danish magazine Ekstra Bladet, Eriksen revealed that while he could be persuaded to stay in north London if offered a new contract, a new challenge is his preferred option.
The 27-year-old Denmark midfielder has only one year left on his current deal and is seeking a resolution to his future with the Champions League runners-up this summer.
Another option for United, it is claimed, is Youri Tielemans after the Belgian enjoyed a successful spell on loan at Leicester City last season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer kept a close eye on the Monaco midfielder’s performances in the English top-flight and was impressed with his impact.
However, United would prefer to keep hold of Pogba and Solskjaer is even willing to build his team around the French superstar.

For me the only option is Eriksen, Tielemanns is just mediocre, his talent is enough for Leicester and it should stay that way. What has he ever won? For me it is senseless to tr u and replace Pogba with Tielemanns. Eriksen is a big player who captains his country and whose football is for big clubs. On the contrary Tielemanns is for small teams and is no leader anywhere. If Pogba goes, ed must go for Eriksen with all they have. Also, I thought they must have sorted the de Ligt issue by now, if he's coming he comes, if not move on to the next target. David de Gea, if he's staying make it official, if not sell quick and go for Jan Oblak quickly, this is the window do things and keep us the shirt buyers the supporters happy
