MU 'inundated with 20 Marcus Rashford offers' as star's response speaks volumes

Marcus Rashford remains a hot commodity in the January window, with the Manchester United star reportedly subject to as many as 20 offers for the England international.

The 27-year-old is likely to leave his boyhood club this month after being frozen out by Ruben Amorim following his omission from the Manchester derby matchday squad in December. Rashford hasn't featured for United since his 56-minute cameo against Victoria Plzen on December 12th in the Europa League.

His downturn in form has lasted 18 months, with the star having failed to reach anywhere near the heights of his 30-goal season during the 2022/23 campaign. However, he remains an in-demand, with the likes of Barcelona, and Borussia Dortmund reportedly interested in his services.

With just a week left in the January transfer window, time is ticking for Rashford to make the move away from Old Trafford – and he certainly hasn't got a shortage of suitors.

According to The Independent, United have fielded as many as 20 enquiries into Rashford's availability, demonstrating just how well-regarded the forward still is within the game. While the report adds that some of those enquiries are said to be informal, it continues by claiming how Rashford had no interest in joining another English club, such as Tottenham or West Ham, and that he wants to pick a club that is right for him.

At 27, Rashford still has plenty of years left at the top and will have a point to prove. His rejection of the likes of Spurs and West Ham goes to show how seriously he's taking his next step, which could be the most important of his career to date, by opting not to take the easiest option out of Old Trafford.

Juventus appear to be the frontrunners for his signature on loan, which Rashford is believed to be open to, with Barcelona considered a possibility in the summer. AC Milan's decision to sign Kyle Walker on loan from Manchester City closed that particular escape route for Rashford, although Borussia Dortmund do remain keen on the United star.

Despite having not featured in the last nine games across all competitions under Amorim, he's remained a popular topic of conversation during the Portuguese's press conferences. Rashford was brought up after their 3-1 defeat to Brighton last week as the Portuguese boss sounded off on his decision not to include the forward.

"It is his choice [not to play]," the 39-year-old said. I don't want to focus on this bad moment because in the games we lost, Rashford is not here. I don't want to put this moment on Rashford. Rashford is out of this moment because he is not playing. No matter what, I am not going to put out a player I don't believe is the best for the team."
