Manchester United have been linked with a sensational move for Juventus outcast Douglas Costa.
Despite the Mirror Football revealing that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will only be allowed loan signings next month, in-the-know Italian sources are sure a bid has already been made.
According to Calciomercato , United have had a '€60m offer' for the Juventus winger turned down.
The Brazilian right-winger has played only 16 matches in all competitions for Juve this season having made his loan deal a permanent one in the summer.
Costa has made 12 Serie A appearances this term but has come off the bench nine times, leading to speculation that he doesn't have a long-term future in Turin.
He would fit the bill being in the right age bracket and playing a position that United have been lacking in recent years.
The 28-year-old only made his switch from Bayern Munich permanent in the Summer, costing them €40m after a successful loan spell.
Ed Woodward is now in charge of transfers after Jose Mourinho's sacking.
However Manchester United are said to be stockpiling cash for their next permanent boss.
That was the message handed down to the former European Cup winner as he took the reins at Old Trafford this week.
Solskjaer was told by executive vice-chairman Edward Woodward prior to taking the job that he will only be allowed to add players until the end of the season.
The Norwegian is on loan himself from Molde and, although he will be striving to make the manager’s job his own, the club are reluctant to spend heavily in January.
Temporary moves are allowed but otherwise cash will be earmarked for the incoming chief.
And so Solskjaer has been told any imports will only be sanctioned on loan while United decide which players will form part of their future.
That means the whole squad are on notice until the end of the campaign.
This means if Costa does make a move to United - it's likely to be on loan.

enough with all this big nonsense, what is even wrong with the heads making all this useless decisions for the club??? we have Rashford (very young and talented ), we have Martial and then there is Sanchez who still hasn't been tested by the new coach, who knows what he will do so what is costa coming to do, and still we don't know know who how new coach will be all this big money transfer talk should end ooo it will be stupid to be buying players in January I hope Ed Woodward knows this #GGMU

We already got Lingard, Alexis, Mata who can play RW. We actually desperate for proper CB would be great if we got Skriniar or Romagnoli.

💪🏾💪🏾 Man Utd make sensational €60m bid for Juventus winger Costa 🔥 Me: Douglas costa 🇧🇷 would bring Energy and attitude to this Manchester United team which is something they need and Costa is one of the most skillful players you could find today and he could be crucial to Manchester United Coach Solskjaer If he wants to play counter attacking football than he would More needed cuz Costa got insane speed so I think this move would be perfect for both costa and Manchester United

I prefer Paul Dybala or Mario Mandzukic to D. Costa... lf its Douglas Costa let's forget about it, its not a good one because we have Anthony Martial & Alexis Sanchez... Just Imagine Paul Pogba and Paul Dybala playing together... or Imagine Jesse Lingard and Mario Mandzukic playing alongside???United will be Unstoppable and Incredible....

I think they could use a creative midfielder/wing to bring some “spice” to their attack. I’m sure he’d quickly become a fan favorite. But for this to happen MU need to start winning like imagine a choice between league toppers, UCL favorites and playing with CR7 vs 6th in EPL and strongly believed to be exiting UCL
