Manchester United have been given a transfer deadline in the wake of manager Ruben Amorim's 'surprise' comment after the Magpies boss was linked with the Old Trafford job
Manchester United have been warned why Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is unlikely to step into Ruben Amorim's shoes should a managerial change be made. Amorim's position as United head coach has come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks, following a string of poor performances during his opening months in charge.
The Red Devils headed into the international break on a high, however, after securing a 2-0 triumph against Sunderland in the Premier League. Talk surrounding Amorim's future has sparked rumours about potential successors being sounded out, with various candidates reportedly in the frame.
Crystal Palace's Oliver Glasner, Brighton's Fabian Hurzeler and Bournemouth's Andoni Iraola have all been mentioned in connection with the Old Trafford hot seat - alongside Howe being touted as a possible candidate, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Nevertheless, former Newcastle United midfielder Jeff Hendrick reckons United are set to persevere with Amorim for at least one more transfer window. Hendrick also outlined why he doesn't anticipate Howe accepting the role as United boss should the chance present itself.
"I would be so surprised if the Manchester United job came available and Eddie Howe took it. I think it's a really, really tough job to take now," Hendrick told Boyle Sports.
"They're kind of stuck. You look at Ruben Amorim coming in, and he had a good profile of what he'd done previously, but he looks disheartened.
"He looks disheartened even though he's had a summer to get a couple of signings in. I think they're better off maybe sticking with him for another transfer window, but who knows if they will.
"Touching on Eddie Howe, he's got the run of the club at Newcastle now with how well he's done. He's able to bring in the players he wants, and let go of the players he doesn't want.
"The fans love him. I don't see why he'd leave. I think for him, his target is to consistently hit Champions League football with that club."
United's next match after the international break will see them take on bitter rivals Liverpool at Anfield on October 19. Amorim will be determined to continue their winning form when they leave Merseyside in just under two weeks time, with Liverpool on a three-game losing run including the latest two in the Premier League.

Eddie Howe is an average coach and hasn't won a thing apart from what Man U won more than once after Ferguson. He is mediocre and the only thing he has Amorim doesn't is an English passport!

Honestly and besides Amorim, sir jim Ratcliffe is another problem for the club. Newcastle, Brighton and Aston villa are middle tables teams and cannot be counted among the big six. So it doesn't make any sense to replace Amorim with any of the coaches who are struggling to keep the in the middle of the table.one can understand if Amorim is replaced by a top class coach like Zidane, sarri, conte etc. Amorim is even better than those coaches that Sir jim Ratcliffe wants to hire. I plead to the Sir jim Ratcliffe and the board to look inwards to get the coaches that know the values and have the DNA of man utd. These persons in order of merit are: Mike Carrick, Darren Fletcher, and Van Nistelrooy.
Zidane is another Amorin why is he running away with his life when the job offer come his way

Sir Jim Ratcliff ana Amorim both are one eyed. Bothe see with one eye and their brains analyze with one side of their brains. No communications between the right and left side of their brains. The result is one doesn't want to change his system and the other his manager. The victim, the fans. Stupid management team!!!

I now want to believe that the top level leadership at Manchester United are lost of way to get the club out of the current mess. I say so because looking at the managers mentioned as potential replacement for Amorim (including Eddy Howe), it shows complete lack of ambition! The club should be thinking of the likes of Pep, Jurgen Clop, Luis Enrik etc. Not the unknowns (the two line profile managers)!
