Manchester United are not smiling on the pitch but put aside their recent troubles to take part in the club foundation's Dream Day.

Fans with life-limiting illnesses were invited to the AON Training Complex to spend some time with a host of players including Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku.

Manager Jose Mourinho was also present and looked happier than recent times to bring some early Christmas cheer to local United fans.

United face Fulham on Saturday afternoon looking to get back into form after four league games without a win.

The Red Devils have endured a poor season so far and are currently eighth in the table, but smiles were back on faces all round as the club opened their doors to fans.

Pogba, who was dropped for United's 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Wednesday, looked cheerful as he posed in a Santa hat with a young fan.

Lukaku, who was also demoted to the bench on Wednesday, was all smiles as he met fans and posed for pictures.

Sergio Romero and Matteo Darmian were also present at one of the Foundation's many events throughout the year.

United have reached the Champions League knockout stages in recent weeks but their league form is still a huge concern.

After their meeting with Fulham, the Red Devils head to Spain to face Valencia still with an outside chance of finishing top of their European group

Mourinho's side then head to Anfield to face arch-rivals Liverpool, who are still unbeaten after an impressive start to the season.

Cardiff and Huddersfield follow as Mourinho's side look to claw back an eight-point deficit to the top four with wins around the Christmas period.
