Barcelona are reportedly ready to slash Jasper Cillessen's price tag in a bid to sell him this summer, which will be a huge boost to Manchester United.
The Holland goalkeeper is out of favour at the Nou Camp and wants to leave this month to reignite his career on the continent.
But the 30-year-old has a £53million release clause in his contract, and originally it seemed that Barcelona were not prepared to let him go for anything less.
Cillessen spoke out about the huge figure and suggested it has the potential to price him out of a switch in this summer's transfer window.
"The fact Barca are asking for €60million doesn't help. I'm still relaxed about it. We just need to wait and see," he told VTBL.
"I'll consider my options after my summer holiday. But I'm looking for a club in one of the top five leagues in Europe."
Manchester United have been linked with a move for the goalkeeper as ambiguity surrounding David de Gea's long-term future at the club remains.
The Spaniard is contracted until next summer at Old Trafford but is yet to sign a new deal, meaning he could leave on a free next July.
The Red Devils are keen to fend against this possibility, and are reportedly considering selling De Gea this summer to recoup a transfer fee for him.
Cillessen is just one man being looked at as a replacement for the Spaniard, and United have been handed a significant boost, according to AS.
The paper is reporting that Barcelona have softened their stand on Cillessen and would now be prepared to accept a figure of £17million for him.
The Catalan giants are under pressure to sell the players considered 'dead wood' this summer in a bid to raise funds for new recruits.
Barcelona have their eye on a number of transfer targets - including former player Neymar - who could cost them a record fee.

we have romero and Henderson . so why are we looking for more goalkeepers. i think both Woodward and solksjaer need to be sacked. we need to sell all the dead wood in the defense and bring in new faces. over hyped players like Shaw.smalling and Jones need to be sold.

Feel sorry for cillessen though....No doubt he is a great keeper but it's tough for him at Barca..53m for him is too much and I doubt anyone will come for him this season unless Barca lower his price tag which the player himself said it's too much

Romero is far far better than this guy and if man united doesn't recognize that Romero deserves to be our number one keeper when De Gae is gone then I think they are being unfair to him and he should also move somewhere else to get a regular game time cos he deserves it

honestly I can of sick when people are paid and can't deliver yet still they don't get sacked and are still in the job and don't want to even resigned. ..Ed Woodward hasn't got the DNA of Manchester United to occupy that seat. ...why can't we buy 4 defender's 3 midfielders and stay put with Romero in goal sell Pogba, Degea, Smalling, Rojo, Jones and Bailey. ...we are just too tired of RUMOURS
