Manchester United have been encouraged to sign Antoine Semenyo after the Bournemouth star's stunning start to the season having garnered interest from elite clubs over the summer
Antoine Semenyo would be an 'ideal' signing for Manchester United, according to former England international Chris Waddle. And the ex-Marseille star believes Semenyo is the best winger in the Premier League.
The Bournemouth ace has enjoyed a phenomenal start to the season. The Cherries winger has bagged six goals and made three assists in his opening seven matches of the Premier League season.
United, in addition to Tottenham and Liverpool, were linked with a summer move for the Ghana international. Ruben Amorim is even said to have met the star for dinner at the end of last season.
The Red Devils invested heavily in their frontline over the summer. United spent £200million on adding Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo.
Semenyo ultimately extended his Bournemouth contract early in the summer transfer window. The former Bristol City star committed himself to the Vitality Stadium until 2030.
Waddle believes that the south coast club will still struggle to retain his services ,however. And the former winger believes he could form a potent combination entwined with Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko.
"Antoine Semenyo, the winger at Bournemouth, is definitely the best [in the Premier League] right now," Waddle told BestBettingSites.
"Semenyo is good at scoring goals, he’s positive, and he gets good goals. When he gets the ball he drives at players.
"I think Bournemouth will struggle to hold onto him. He’s really talented, and the best winger in the country right now.
"People might question why someone would want to join Manchester United right now, but they will come good again, and they’re a huge club still.
"If Semenyo went to United, he could play just as he is for Bournemouth and be ideal for them. He could play alongside Matheus Cunha, and then he and Benjamin Sesko could spark into life.
"You could see a real team developing, especially with Bruno Fernandes in behind. There’s a lot more to do, but I can see them building a team there.
"He’s the type of player that United fans would love, and it would be a great acquisition, but he won’t come cheap."
Semenyo has not been convinced by any offers that have come his way so far, however. "If you go somewhere, you want to feel wanted, and I didn’t feel that," Semenyo told Sky Sports.
"This (Bournemouth) is my safe place. I felt wanted. It feels great. I want to be playing, that’s the most important thing for me. We’ve got a good group here and we’re wanting to achieve top things this year. So this is the best place to be right now."

What ever player that comes to united will flop period, is Chuna, Mbuemo, Sesco bad players,?? ....the issue is not the players...... look at how players who left united performes well after joining other clubs....take a little time and think about that ...First united has to build a culture of unity among the players couching staff supporters and officials....work together for a while build a system of play , start getting results slowly process by process...which united in general are not patient enough to do..putting pressure to who ever comes in, old former players who did not even couched a second division club are so critical of every single club...and players...
