Man Utd transfer news: Barcelona eye Sancho amid links to 'next Kevin De Bruyne'

Manchester United look set for a busy summer, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS now in charge of football operations.

Having decided to stick with Erik ten Hag as manager, United's are now fully focused on their transfer business and plenty of incomings and outgoings could be on the cards given the need to raise funds.

United have a net transfer budget of just £50million due to the Premier League's strict Profit and Sustainability Rules, meaning potential sales will be key for Ratcliffe and co. Here, Mirror Football takes a look at the latest transfer news coming out of Old Trafford...

Barcelona eye Sancho

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona are interested in a loan move for Jadon Sancho.

Sancho spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund after falling out with Ten Hag and United are keen to sell him this summer. However, it is claimed that United's asking price has scared off several potential suitors and they are willing to let him go out on loan again.

The report states that new Barcelona boss Hansi Flick 'really likes' Sancho, who would be willing to reduce his salary demands in order to get the move over the line.

Zirkzee latest

United are in the market for a new striker and Bologna's Joshua Zirkzee is their top target.

The Dutchman has a £34m release clause which United are willing to pay and they are now in talks over personal terms with Zirkzee's representatives. Ratcliffe is keen to sign young players with huge potential and Zirkzee fits that bill.

Bologna signed the 23-year-old for just £7.2m back in 2022 following loan spells at Parma and Anderlecht and he earned his first call-up to the Netherlands senior team for Euro 2024 after injuries to Frenkie de Jong and Teun Koopmeiners.

Man Utd urged to sign 'next De Bruyne'

Former United striker Dwight Yorke has urged the club to try and sign Arda Guler this summer, comparing the Turkish international to Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne.

"Arda Guler has some talk about him being this wonderkid for a couple of years now, and he's shown he does have that special quality when he scored the wondergoal for Turkey," Yorke told Crypto Sports Betting. "He has lit up the Euros, and now everyone will be wanting to rescue him from Real Madrid's bench.

"We've seen the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah leave a big club like Chelsea and it has benefited their careers, who is to say that Guler leaving Real Madrid to join Man United won't be a similar case? He needs an opportunity to play week in and week out. Everyone looks for an experienced, quick fix, but we shouldn't look past Guler who can become world-class. I'm all for Man United signing him."
