Man Utd's 10 transfer targets 'revealed' as Solskjaer plots major overhaul

It is no secret that Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is preparing a huge amount of chopping and changing of his squad this summer.

After a poor end to the season which saw United fail to qualify for the Champions League Solskjaer knows he needs to vastly improve the quality of his team if they are to get anywhere near the top four places next season.

With the likes of Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku rumoured to be leaving, Solskjaer will have money to spend, and according to the Daily Mail there are ten players on his list as he looks to add to the capture of Daniel James from Swansea.

Perhaps the most pressing concern is the defence, with United having shipped 54 goals in the Premier League last season.

Crystal Palace's Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Thomas Meunier of PSG are both targets for the right-back position, with Wan-Bissaka valued at £50m by his club and Meunier at £30m.

In the centre of defence Harry Maguire is said to be Solskjaer's number one target, although Leicester value him at an eye-watering £90m. Milan Skriniar of Inter is another possibility, but is again pricey and would cost an estimated £80m.

With Nemanja Matic and possibly Pogba leaving the club there is also a need to bring in some steel in centre-midfield.

Ivan Rakitic is possibly surplus to requirements at Barcelona following the arrival of Frenkie de Jong, and could cost about £50m. A slightly cheaper option at £40m is Tottenham's Eric Dier, who has been linked with the club in the past.

A rather surprising player on United's radar is Newcastle's Sean Longstaff, who has been compared to Michael Carrick and could be available for a cut-price £25m.

Solskjaer also wants more attacking threat from his side, and could do battle with Spurs for the £70m rated Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

Another Lyon player, Moussa Dembele, is being considered as a striking option for £40m, while perhaps the most ambitious target of all is Benfica wonderkid Joao Felix, who Manchester City are also interested in but who would likely command a fee of a massive £105m.

It is not clear how many of these players United could afford, but there are certainly some potential deals to keep an eye on over the summer.
