According to reports in Spain, City have advised the player to take his time and avoid renewing too quickly, keeping open the possibility of a free transfer in 2027 or a cheaper move in 2026. Contacts have already taken place with his representatives, but the situation largely depends on the future of Pep Guardiola, whose contract also runs until 2027.

His tactical approach is not considered a perfect fit for Vinicius, and a potential change on the bench could make the Manchester project more attractive.
