Manchester United consider moves for Stuttgart's Sasa Kalajdzic and RB Salzburg's Benjamin Sesko

Manchester United are considering Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic as well as Benjamin Sesko of Red Bull Salzburg.

Austria international Kalajdzic, who is 6ft 7ins tall, is available for around £17million and is on United's list of options.

Sesko, who was watched by Premier League scouts again on Saturday while in action at Sturm Graz, is valued at £55m. The 19-year-old Slovenia international's agent held talks with United last week.

United are exploring forward alternatives with Ajax demanding over £80m for Antony while Cristiano Ronaldo's future remains in the balance.

The Portuguese star, who has some interest from his former club Sporting Lisbon, trained at United's Carrington training complex on Saturday alongside the likes of Charlie Savage, Charlie McNeill, Amad Diallo and Hannibal Mejbri ahead of playing at Old Trafford against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

United, meanwhile, are appointing Benni McCarthy to their first team coaching staff. The 44-year-old South African is a boyhood United fan and had been coaching Durban-based AmaZulu up until March.

McCarthy played for Blackburn and West Ham and famously scored for Porto at Old Trafford when Jose Mourihno was the Portuguese club's manager and danced down the touchline to celebrate.

Kalajdzic joined Stuttgart from Admira Wacker in 2019 and has proceeded to score 24 goals in 57 games.

Sesko, meanwhile, has scored 13 goals in 41 appearances for RB Salzburg. He gained experience during a loan spell at FC Liefering between 2019 and 2021.

United have Anthony Martial back from his loan spell at Sevilla, while they can also call upon the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Elanga, plus Jadon Sancho is an option out wide.

However, ten Hag wants to bolster his attack as United prepare for the start of the new Premier League campaign.

So far this summer United have signed Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia.
