Manchester United's 3-1 defeat by West Ham on Saturday is being interpreted in England as the final straw which could see Jose Mourinho sacked this week.
The Daily Mail say the Portuguese coach could be let go after a dismal United display which completes a negative start to the season, their worst in 29 years, and which leaves the team nine points from Manchester City, where Pep Guardiola is dominating the league.
Their return from London said it all, with Alexis Sanchez, Nemanja Matic and Marcus Rashford pictured looking grumpy on arrival back in Manchester. Paul Pogba was the centre of attention again after a bad display that saw him taken off after 70 minutes. It is reported that players and staff were discussing openly the possibility of Mourinho being sacked when the train got back in to town on Saturday afternoon.
On BT Sport former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand said: "I think now they have to take some important decisions. The board and directors, people like Ed Woodward, are having conversations at that level to decide what they will do."
The West Ham defeat came after Derby County kicked United out of the Carabao Cup.
However to sack Mourinho would cost 15 million euros, what he earns each year on his contract. United have denied they have spoken to former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane.

The pressure on mourinhno is not because the squad perform badly, his main pressure is in knowing that Zidane has started learning English.

if Man Utd fans think that by getting rid of Jose & hiring Zidane is going to solve their problem, it's highly unlikely, because Zidane is not really a coach, but a very good manager, what he did at Real was man manage the egos of all stars & effectively distribute mins amongst all deserved, I don't think United has the squad which needs man management, but what they need is a good coach.
