Manchester United supporters are keeping a keen eye on developments at Old Trafford following the Glazers putting the club up for sale.
A number of interested parties have been linked with a potential takeover, including the founder of fashion brand Zara, Amancio Ortega, and former Goldman Sachs boss Lord Jim Knight, as both revealed by the Manchester Evening News.
Reports also suggest Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to make a bid for United despite cooling interest last month after first registering an interest in August. Meanwhile, David Beckham is rumoured to be willing to back a potential bidder if their vision for the club convinces him.
The Glazers bought United for around £780m in 2005 and are now supposedly seeking a £5bn sell-off. Developments and analysis from Tuesday’s statement continue to roll on. Here is a round-up of the latest regarding a possible United takeover.
For the best part of 16 years, the Glazer family had stoically ignored years of complaints and protests from fans about their ownership of Manchester United.
Green-and-gold scarves were waved and chants aired at Old Trafford and beyond as millions were drained out of the club's coffers since 2005, but it had all fallen on deaf ears. The anger grew when the Glazers joined other top clubs in attempting to form a breakaway European Super League in April 2021.
Manchester United are looking at 'different strategic alternatives' for the way the club is run, but no matter what happens, they must stick to the strategy they are implementing on the pitch.
It is still very early days in regards to any possible takeover of United, and it must be stressed that while the Glazers are understood to prefer a full sale of the club, there is still a chance it could be a partial sale or even not happen at all.
United fans will hope for a new era of success if ownership changes, but they will also hope that it comes in the form of building on the solid foundations that have already been laid, rather than tearing everything down and starting over.

Let's just wait and see which interested parties come to the fore with regard purchasing the club! Due diligence should then be done on them, especially around their respective plans for the club! My concern is the Glazers will sell us to the highest bidder without any consideration for the club despite their words!!
they didn't show any consideration while they owned the club. don't expect them to show any when they're selling. whoever comes, it can't be as bad as Glazers.
