Marca: Courtois hopes to play, will fly to Barcelona if he feels better

According to Marca, Real Madrid goalkeeper Courtois was not included in the squad list for this round of El Clásico in LaLiga due to flu symptoms, but he still hopes to hold out until the last minute to try to make it to the match against Barcelona.

Real Madrid officially announced on Sunday morning local time that Courtois was withdrawn from the squad due to flu symptoms. However, the Belgian goalkeeper has no intention of giving up and is willing to shorten his recovery time as much as possible to try to make this match he does not want to miss.

Sources from the Valdebebas training ground stated: "We will monitor his recovery over the next few hours to see if he feels better. If he does, he will fly to Barcelona." The sources added: "Let's see if he can recover to 100% and then fly."

The club's medical report had previously indicated that Courtois would be absent, but if his condition improves in the coming hours, there is still a possibility he could travel with the team.
