Inter Milan forward Marcus Thuram was full of praise for teammate Nicolo Barella after their Serie A title winning victory over Parma on Sunday (May 3).
Cristian Chivu’s side secured the Serie A title with three games left to go, the 21st in the Italian club’s incredible history.
Thuram, 28, opened the scoring just before half time, with veteran midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan tying it up in the 80th minute.
Midfielder and captain Barella, 29, was named player of the match, however, and Thuram couldn’t help but heap praise upon him.
“Barella is one of the best players in the world, he can do so much, he helped Inter and Italy, in my view he is the best Italian player. I never understood when he was doubted by some people,” Thuram told [a href="https://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Serie-A/Inter/03-05-2026/inter-barella-scudetto-sempre-stato-il-nostro-obiettivo.shtml"]DAZN Italia[/a].
“He got angry on and off the field, he is one of our captains, and we must not forget that. Since I arrived at Inter, I saw a team that loves to stay together, on and off the field, and that is our strength.”
