Olympique de Marseille’s Nayef Aguerd (30) is reportedly attracting interest from clubs in the Gulf, according to La Provence. Other clubs are also said to be interested in signing the Kenitra-born player.
Signed from West Ham United for €23 million last summer, the defender was one of Marseille’s major signings during the transfer window and is also on a substantial salary.
But unfortunately for the OM management, the Moroccan has had a difficult season, falling far short of the expectations placed upon him. Having started in 21 of the 22 matches he played across all competitions during the 2026–27 season, he has been plagued by a series of injuries that have kept him off the pitch.
And whilst his contract runs until 2030, Aguerd could well bear the brunt of his club’s need for cash, with their failure to qualify for the Champions League weighing heavily on the club’s finances.
