Marseille – PSG to break Vélodrome attendance record on Sunday

According to RMC Sport, the Classique between Olympique de Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain promises to set a new attendance record at Marseille’s Velodrome stadium. The previous record was set during Marseille’s match against Lyon in the 2019-2020 season with 65,421 spectators.

With all of Marseille’s home games having been sold out this season, the Vélodrome is expected to see the highest number of supporters of all time, PSG fans will not be present at the stadium in the away end.

Marseille’s faithful are looking forward to this match, knowing that the Olympians can still dream of a title run against the Parisians. For PSG, a victory is much needed if they want to calm the brewing storm at the club before facing Bayern Munich in the second leg of the Champions League last 16 round at the Allianz Arena.

The two teams have already met this season at the Parc des Princes, where PSG won 1-0. But for Marseille, they will be hoping to replicate their performance in this match a fortnight ago in the Coupe de France, where the Olympians won for the first time in the Classic for 12 years.
