Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has suggested for the first time that he is keen to pledge his future to the club, indicating that talks over a new contract are imminent.
Mount, 23, has two years left on his deal but is one of the lowest-paid players in the squad, having not penned fresh terms since making his first-team debut in 2019.
It was reported by The Athletic that three of the 'biggest clubs in England' have looked to make the most of the uncertainty with proposals to try and snap him up.
England international Mount is widely viewed as one of the most talented stars in the Premier League, but, on around £88,000-a-week, will be on just a quarter of what Raheem Sterling will earn when he completes his move to Stamford Bridge.
However, despite this, Mount remains settled at Chelsea with an extension likely.
'I've got two years left on my contract and I'm very, very happy here,' he said. 'Those talks will hopefully be starting soon.'
The Cobham academy graduate endured a difficult end to the season, having missed the decisive penalty in the Blues' FA Cup final defeat by Wembley in May.
He scored 13 goals and assisted 16 more in the last campaign, but Chelsea run the risk of potentially losing him for free if they allow his deal to continue ticking down.
Mount, though, has revealed he is excited by the new project under Todd Boehly.
'After the last game of the season we had a little get-together at the hotel and he (Boehly) was there with the rest of the consortium,' he added.
'It was good to meet them in person and speak to them all. It's so exciting what the future holds.
'It's an unknown, but the way it's started is really exciting to see what's going to happen.
'We're a team that over the last ten years has been up there and pushing and that is where we want to stay.
'Speaking to them about their goals and aims, we're on the same page. So hopefully that continues.'
