Since Hugo Lloris retired from the French national team in 2022, Mbappé has served as France's captain. The 25-year-old has adapted well to this new role. Now, after nearly three years wearing the armband, he clearly understands what it takes to be a good captain.
"A good captain... everyone has their own definition of a captain, but a good captain is someone who can motivate those around them, knows how to unite everyone, knows how to open themselves up to others, and will do everything possible to put their teammates and the team in the best possible conditions," he said in an interview with Onze Mondial.
