Kylian Mbappe was not at his best in the first half of Paris Saint-Germain's match away to Nantes on Saturday.
Whilst walking down the tunnel at the break, he voiced his complaints to the referee, Hakim Ben El-Hadj, about a penalty he believed his team should have been awarded.
"It's the same every year," Mbappe said within earshot of the referee, as reported by RMC Sport through images from Canal+.
"They come and lie to us here all the time. They have three-hour meetings every time.
"You must not come and lie to us, referee."
Far from turning a deaf ear to the 21-year-old's comments, the official called Mbappe into his office for a chat.
The words they exchanged is unknown, but it is known that PSG captain Marquinhos was present.
After the break, Mbappe was key in the Parisians' 3-0 win, assisting Ander Herrera to make it 1-0 in the 47th minute and then doubling his team's lead, curiously from the penalty spot, before being substituted late on as a precaution.
