Mbappe reaches 200 career goals

Kylian Mbappe started 2022 in a similar way to how he finished the previous calendar year, as he has netted a hat-trick against Vannes in the Coupe de France last 32 after scoring a brace in the previous round against SC Feignies.

PSG won both games and qualified for the round of 16, where they will face Nice, while Mbappe surpassed 200 career goals in the process. The France international has now scored as many as 201 times in 309 games for Monaco, PSG and the national team.

Mbappe netted 27 goals in 60 games while at Monaco and has found the back of the net 24 times in 53 duels for Les Blues, with his PSG tally being 150 goals in 196 games.

"I am afraid of not winning, of disappointing," Mbappe said in a recent interview with Thierry Henry.

"My wish is to leave a mark."

He is certainly doing so, as only Edinson Cavani (200) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (156) have scored more times than Mbappe has managed as a PSG player (150).

Meanwhile, no player has reached 30 Champions League goals at his age and he is also the youngest player to have netted 100 times in Ligue 1.

So far, Mbappe has scored 31 goals in Europe and 116 in the French domestic league. He also needs just another four goals to be part of France's top 10 of all-time top scorers.

A promising 2022

Mbappe has already scored 15 goals and produced 15 assists in 24 games for PSG this season.

His contract runs until June, with Real Madrid having expressed their interest in acquiring his services.
