Kylian Mbappe has admitted Ajax starlet Frenkie De Jong would be an 'enormous' signing for Paris Saint-Germain if they can win the race for his signature.

PSG are among a host of clubs, including Barcelona, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Juventus, who have been linked with a move for the Dutch midfielder.

De Jong is one of the most sought-after talents in world football and Mbappe was left impressed after going up against him on international duty recently.

'He is a player who really impressed me during our two matches with the Netherlands,' he told France Football.

'His vision and the quality of his passing that breaks the lines make him very valuable, especially because he also intercepts a considerable amount of balls.

'Honestly, he is very welcome in Paris! I said to him as much, because he would be enormous for us. After that, he will make his own choice.'

De Jong has scored twice in 22 appearances in all competitions this season and has played in all 10 of Ajax's Champions League matches over qualifying and the group stage.

Barcelona are said to be leading the chase for the 21-year-old and recent reports in Spain claimed Ajax had set a price of £66million to lure him away from Amsterdam.

PSG will be looking to bolster their options in midfield due to the impending departure of Adrien Rabiot. The Frenchman has decided against signing a new deal at Parc des Princes and looks set for a move away next summer.
