Mbappe wants to join Real Madrid as he doesn't feel valued by PSG (ABC)

Kylian Mbappe wants to leave PSG and sign for Real Madrid. That's what ABC are reporting today.

Mbappe's father is involved in the potential transfer and hopes to see his son move to La Liga this summer.

The reason behind this desire to leave is because Mbappe doesn't feel valued by PSG. He's currently earning €13m per season whereas Neymar's salary is almost three times that: €36m.

Neymar is still viewed as the figurehead of the project but the reality is Mbappe has been the star. The Brazilian has suffered injuries in both his seasons at the club and, in his absence, it was Mbappe who led the project on the pitch. He now wants a contract which reflects his influence on the team's success.

Another factor which upset Mbappe is the fact he wasn't allowed to take penalties, despite being in the race for the Golden Shoe with Lionel Messi. Neymar and Cavani shared responsibility between themselves.

Mbappe's father is the one in charge of finding a solution which works for all parties. PSG would be willing to accept a deal if it was worth around €230m. Madrid, for their part, are willing to match that valuation.

Florentino Perez won't make a move until he knows PSG are ready to negotiate. He doesn't want to put any strain on the good relationship he has with Nasser Al-Khelaifi, but it is a deal he wants to get over the line. Signing Mbappe would not only please Zidane but also help bring in better sponsorship deals for the remodelling work at the Santiago Bernabeu.
