Mbappe youngest player to score brace in World Cup game since Pele

The French striker scored twice in the second half to ensure France beat Argentina in the last 16 games against Argentina in Kazan.

Kylian Mbappé became the youngest player to score a brace in the World Cup since Pele managed the feat in 1958. At 19 years and six months, Mbappé is just 10 months older than the legendary Brazilian. It was the final when Pele managed his double, which came against Sweden, to help them seal the title.

Mbappé sent out two warning shots in the first half of France's last 16 tie against Argentina. He ran at the Argentinian defence twice and got pulled down for a penalty for one and was hauled down just outside the box on the second occasion. That wasn't his most important input though, in a game where he was the standout player.

The future is bright for that chap.
