However on Thursday Mbappe could be banned for the rest of the season which would more or less hand the trophy to Messi.
Mbappe had five games left in Ligue 1 while Messi has three left in La Liga.
The Argentine is heading for his sixth golden boot (09-10, 11-12, 12-13, 16-17 and 17-18).
Winning that would also take him closer to his sixth Ballon d’Or.

Does that ban apply for League one since it was a different tournament? I am in doubt. But even if Mbappe is not banned, currently Messi is leading the chart and hope he will score in rest of the matches. 6th golden shoe is waiting for the GOAT.
