Italian media is full of praise for Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic: ‘A force of nature like Romelu Lukaku and Erling Haaland.’
The 21-year-old netted a brace against Atalanta last night, scoring his 20th goal in 2021. Only Leo Messi and Robert Lewandowski have more in Europe’s top five leagues.
Vlahovic scored both goals from the spot and so did Duvan Zapata, who netted Atalanta’s only goal of the evening.
Vlahovic was named MVP by each Italian sports paper, being rated 7.5/10 by La Gazzetta dello Sport and 8/10 by Tuttosport and Il Corriere dello Sport and earning comparisons to the Chelsea and Borussia Dormtund stars.
“He is an authentic force of nature, just like Romelu Lukaku and Erling Haaland,” wrote the Rome-based paper.
Vlahovic’s contract in Florence expires in June 2023, but according to multiple reports in Italy, La Viola are in advanced talks over a new deal for the 21-year-old.
During the summer, he was linked with Juventus and Tottenham, but the striker decided to remain at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
