According to Sky Sports, Paul Merson stated in his column that the match between Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa could be a turning point for both teams' momentum, and he believes Arsenal will easily win the title.
Merson said: "Against Everton, I thought Tottenham Hotspur were excellent in the first 15 to 20 minutes. The way they passed and moved the ball caused problems for Everton, but Tottenham Hotspur couldn't score. Once they fail to score for a prolonged period, the players' mentality suffers. They need to score early, and confidence is crucial."
Merson said: "Whether it's a U10 academy player or a professional player, confidence is the one thing you can lose. At the moment, Tottenham Hotspur lack confidence and belief, and that's the problem."
Speaking about Villa, Merson said: "Aston Villa have too many good players, and losing to Nottingham Forest was a bad result and concerning. They had the upper hand but couldn't score. However, I'd be very surprised if they get relegated. Villa have plenty of quality players and one of the best managers in the business; they're just going through a difficult spell right now."
Merson said: "I think this weekend's game against Tottenham Hotspur is crucial. Being at the bottom of the table means you're under pressure. I'm not concerned about either Tottenham Hotspur or Aston Villa's long-term prospects, but this match is important for both teams because it's a momentum-shifting battle. The winner can build on that after the international break."
Speaking about Arsenal, Merson said: "I think Arsenal will win the Premier League by double digits, and they will win it comfortably. Their schedule includes away games against Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool. After these four games, I don't see who else can beat Arsenal."
Merson said: "Arsenal are a very difficult team to beat, and I don't see them losing many games this season. Now they are less constrained; no one can say that Arsenal choke at crucial moments anymore, so the pressure is reduced. They play patiently and will eventually score, while their opponents won't. That's where Arsenal are at the moment."
