Messi: I watch keeper before taking free-kicks, my sons often cut off my naps

Leo Messi gives in an interview with La Liga over various topics.

Leo Messi is one of the protagonists of the interviews LaLiga has done on the occasion of its 90th anniversary. 

“I always remember the day that Eto’o told me: 'When you start scoring goals, you won't stop.'" said Messi.

"And then one day the lid opened, one went in and then everything started to go in. Because before that I was getting a lot of chances but I wasn’t taking them. Every time I go out on the field I make it less mentalized in the goal and more in the game".

On the record he has since 2014, when he surpassed Telmo Zarra's 252 goals, he recognizes: "Being the top scorer of La Liga, with what the Spanish League means, is special. I think it's one of the nicest records I have."

Talking about free-kicks, Messi said: "It's true that I’ve been studying goalkeeping a bit more lately, and above all when taking free kicks I watch to see if the keeper moves, if he takes a step in either direction. It’s all about learning and training. I’ve been improving my free-kicks with practice."

Barca No.10 also speaks of his family life, conditioned by his three children (Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro): "We have a very marked rhythm that depends on the rhythm of the children. We just trained, I come home to eat fast and go out to pick them up at school."
