Lionel Messi walked a tightrope on Wednesday night when snapping back at referee Damir Skomina during Barcelona's win over Chelsea.
Following a decision not to the Barcelona player's liking, he ran up to the referee and earned a quick rebuttal.
"Leo, turn it down," Skomina said following strong protestations from the forward.
However Messi didn't like the official's tone either and continued to defend himself.
"You don't speak badly to me," replied Messi.
"I didn't disrespect you, did I?"
The incident took place in the first half with Barcelona already heading into the quarter-finals, the draw for which is to be made at 12:00 CET on Friday.

Since you're sure Messi has a lot of dark sides, I suggest you support ya defamation with evidences. You're too mature to just make senseless assumptions.
You are speaking to a guy who played 30years without a receiving a red card...Go's study psycho to know the difference between confidence and arrogance.

I have always said it and I will keep on saying it. No one knows how arrogant this Messi is. Everyone thinks because he's not so vocal and doesn't show too much emotions on the pitch, he's a meek lad. We have all painted Ronaldo as the devil when in actual truth, Ronaldo is far better than Messi in humility and comportment. Y'all won't know this but just because you are the best in the world on the pitch doesn't mean you are also the best in character. This Messi has a lot of dark sides and people just won't see it.
What have you always said that Ronaldo is the most arrogant player ever. Just because you are the ref doesn't give you the right to talk to players the way you want stop being stupid
