Sadio Mane received a hard question in Liverpool's pre-match conference for the UEFA Super Cup today.
Mane, sitting alongside his club teammate Van Dijk, was asked if he would consider Messi winning the Ballon d'Or a 'frustration'.
After a cheeky smile, Mane said: "No. I think he deserves to win it, for sure.
"Everybody knows Messi so I don't have to describe how good he is."

mane is a honest guy. and class from vvd he didnt look like he wanted to kill mane wen he said that. thats wat football should be about if u win this trophy u can be proud but if u dont win u should be pleased with urself especially if the person who wins it deserved it as much as urself. i respect vvd in his comments about messi deserves the award but he wont mind it if he wins.i think messi will win the award or at least deserves to. but if vvd wins then it is not such a bad thing coz he deserved it too.but ronaldo on the other hand. i lost my respect after his latest comments. the guy is a legend and one of the best players but is too arrogant to be considered the best

Yes. I think the only reason Messi will win it will be because of his popularity and how underrated Defenders have become in Balon D'or rankings these days. Messi was exceptional as a forward, Van Dijk was exceptional as a defender
