Leo Messi grabbed the headlines with his two goals in the Catalan derby against Espanyol on Saturday but he was fortunate to stay on the pitch in the closing stages.
The Argentine kicked out at Esteban Granero while on the floor after a coming-together, for which he immediately apologised.
Referee Del Cerro Grande awarded a free-kick to Espanyol but did not punish the forward.
Messi scored twice as Barcelona earned a 2-0 win at the Camp Nou.

A lot of hypocrite barca fans here. Just because messi did it,so all these excuses seems to cover up his wrongdoing. Whatever it is,that kick isnt supposedly done, and no matter if he apologized right after that,he deserved at least a yellow card for warning and a foul like that. And here in this comment section,i see a lot of hyprocrite barca/messi fans saying nonsense thing like “the kick wasnt as hard,oh he apologized after that so it should be ok and whatever”..shame on them. Just imagine if ramos did the same kick to messi and he later apologized, what these same barca/messi fans would be sayin though? Like always it would be a great noise all over the place and asking for a red card. And now because its messi, they pretend like nothin happened.
