Messi travels to Italy to visit his nutritionist

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi flew to Italy to visit his nutritionist, Giuliano Poser, after being given a day off by head coach Ernesto Valverde.

The 31-year-old has total confidence in Poser, who has been in charge of giving him dietary guidelines that allow him to optimise his performance.

Messi, who posted a picture of himself in his private jet on social media, asked for his assistance as he looked to solve his muscular problems and vomit issues two seasons ago.

Poser's method - as he explained a few months ago in an interview - consists of obtaining the maximum energy of each athlete's muscle, individual work, injury prevention and certain types of food.

Several Argentina players have also placed themselves in the hands of the nutritionist over the last few years.
