Unless there is another surprise to come, Lionel Messi's future lies at the Parc des Princes with Paris Saint-Germain. Since his Barcelona exit was confirmed on Thursday, the French side have been working on signing the Argentine.
PSG have been determined to seize the opportunity that has presented itself, and Messi is set to sign for the the 2019/20 Champions League's runners-up.
According to L'Equipe, the French club have a contract ready for Messi for three years, with the last of those being optional. Messi will earn an annual net salary of 40 million euros, more than Neymar's 35 million euros.
"It's a little less than what the French club were willing to offer in the past," L'Equipe wrote. "But it fits with the player's demands and gives him at least two years.
"A meeting between PSG and the player's representatives is set for Sunday."
Renewing Mbappe, still a priority
With Kylian Mbappe's contract renewal still something that PSG desperately want to resolve, the club are holding back with Messi to stay within their economic limits.
But a chance to sign Messi is too good to turn down, and Mauricio Pochettino spoke about the possibility on Friday.
His presentation on Tuesday
PSG expect to wrap the deal up soon and, according to Mundo Deportivo, he could be presented in Paris as early as Tuesday.

The Nigeria U20 women's team stepped up their preparation for their Burkina Faso showdown with a 7-0 win over Naija Ratels at the Fifa Goal Project pitch, Abuja on Friday. The Falconets had previously played two warm-up games since their resumption of camp on March 1, losing 2-1 to Abuja U17 boys before a playing out a 0-0 draw with Nasarawa Amazons. Moses Aduku's ladies continued their build-up with captain Gift Monday giving them an early lead from a goalmouth scramble against the Women's Amateur League side in the 15th minute. Esther Onyenezide doubled the lead moments later before Blessing Okpe breezed past her markers to net a third of the match and Joy Omewa made it 4-0 five minutes from before half-time. The ruthless national side continued from where they left in the first half despite fresh legs introduced as Grace Igboamalu added the fifth and Precious Christopher grabbed a brace to seal the triumph. The win was the first for Aduku's team in three warm-up matches and they have scored eight goals, conceding just twice. The Falconets were initially scheduled to battle Burkina Faso in the first round of the U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier on March 21 but has now been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
