Michail Antonio has disclosed what Jurgen Klopp told Mohamed Salah during their touchline spat, according to the training ground recollections of West Ham players.
The Hammers strikers netted an equaliser for the home side moments after the heated exchange between player and manager had concluded.
The pair could be seen getting visibly angry with each other before the Egyptian was introduced as a substitute, with Darwin Nunez having to step in and separate the two staple pieces of Liverpool's last decade.
Antonio revealed what Hammers players close to the incident recalled about the situation and he claimed to understand why the argument started.
'Basically - this is not inside information, nobody has told me anything,' he began on the Footballer's Football Podcast. 'But what I have heard is what the boys have been talking about on the training ground.
'As the (Liverpool) players come on, Klopp always gives them a big hug and says "good luck", but when Mo came on he walked in a different direction and was doing his shinpads and stuff like that.
'Klopp has put his hand out to him and his hand was there for a bit and as Mo stopped doing what he was doing, he just slapped his (Klopp's) hand as a high five.
'Obviously Klopp didn’t like that and he was like, "do you want to sit back down?", basically saying, "do you want to go on?". And nobody has told me what Mo said back.'
The surprising clash has understandably drawn intrigue and motivated an army of lip readers to figure out exactly what was uttered.
According to Sportbible via lip reader John Cassidy, Salah was seen saying to his manager: 'There's nothing I can do about that, nothing.'
Cassidy went on to claim that, though Klopp's response was obscured, he indicated Salah was not ready as quickly as he would have liked him to be.
After the incident, Salah ignored his manager as he walked onto the pitch at full-time, the 31-year-old then told reporters 'If I speak, there will be fire' when walking through the mixed zone.
Klopp on the other hand, sought to play down the issue and told reporters in interviews that the matter had been dealt with in the dressing room.
Antonio believes that the flashpoint has been blown out of proportion and likely stems from the Reds' frustration at recent poor performances.
'It's one of those things because they (Liverpool) are not performing it's going to be amplified,' he added.
'Knowing who they are and how well they've done this season and basically the title could be drifting away from them, tensions are going to be high, there is going to be a lot of frustration and I feel like they are only human so these things are bound to happen.'
Jarrod Bowen and Andy Robertson had traded goals either side of the break before Alphonse Areola's own goal appeared to have set the Reds on course for an important win to keep up the pressure on Arsenal and Manchester City.
However, Antonio equalised 13 minutes from time to deny the visitors two vital points. Their title each replied with victories that have now left the side five points adrift of the top.

it's a tradition with kloop and his players, it keeps the team alive . Mo can not pretend he doesn't know the spirit behind that hug . He will regret having not comply with his manager. He can't go against team tradition.
big man you are talking like a layman. when I talk of tradition in other words it's like Custom that had been existing in Liverpool through out the Era of Kloop.

You are doing juju or satanic in Liverpool
Big man it's like you are from Nigeria coz they are use to juju, or babalaho . Liverpool don't use Juju, when I talk of tradition I simple mean in other word that it's a custom that had been existing in Liverpool through out the Era of Kloop.

all put together, Mo Salah's days at Liverpool should be over. if the incoming manager do a review of previous spats in and off field, the Egyptian would be shown the exit door.

It's really Obvious that Klopp Departure is having a Negative effects on the Team. As his Time gets closer players are realizing what next. Is the New Manager gonna pick them, as we all know Manager has their Favorite players. If you notice Darwin was very to subdued Salah as Klopp brought him to the Club. Hope the Transition from Klopp to the other Manager goes well. I thought Klopp was Rebuilding Liverpool, so his Departure will be Evident. But none of my Business. CITY4LIFE
