Mikautadze rejects chance to join two Ligue 1 rivals amid Bundesliga interest

Olympique Lyonnais’ Georges Mikautadze (24) has shown his loyalty to his formative club, rejecting the chances to sign for Ligue 1 rivals, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

Lyon, in a precarious financial situation, cannot refuse lucrative offers for their players. Malick Fofana is one of those heavily linked with a departure, whilst Rayan Cherki left early in the window. In the event that OL received a substantial bid for Mikautadze, it may be difficult for them to say no, even if the club are lacking in firepower, following the departure of Alexandre Lacazette.

However, the Georgia international doesn’t look likely to go elsewhere in France. As per Tavolieri, he has turned down approaches made by Paris FC and Stade Rennais.

That does not mean, however, that he will not move at all. The greatest interest comes from Germany and specifically from Eintracht Frankfurt, who may make a move should Elye Wahi leave the club this summer.
