According to Italian media, Mkhitaryan was interviewed in Armenia.
Currently on vacation in Armenia, Mkhitaryan visited Pyunik, the club where his career began. Speaking on the club's social media channel, he said: "I started here and made it all the way to Internazionale, which makes me very proud. It's always great to return to Pyunik. There are many memories here, especially the day I came with my mother to enroll in the academy. This was my first club, and it gave me everything I needed. There are two types of young people: those with dreams and those who aspire to achieve ambitious goals."
He continued: "I also experienced disappointments, but they only lasted a few hours or days at most. After that, I always found the strength within myself to start anew. I told myself that what I was going through was just a fleeting moment. With the help of friends and family, one can get through difficult times."
Mkhitaryan concluded: "Thanks to the young people who follow me, and thanks to my son, father, and family. I cannot leave things unfinished; I cannot fail to complete what I started. I want to finish with dignity, and I hope to play for another year, after which everything will be clearer. There is only one way to succeed, and that is to work hard and love yourself. I don't want my career to end with poor performances. Every morning I wake up feeling good, with enthusiasm to train and play, and I believe that's what it takes to stay at the top level."
